I started offering Research Stewardship as a service because of the growing gap that I have witnessed in the support of early career researchers.
I am a full Professor (2013) with more than 20 years as an academic. Since 2018 I have been an invited Visiting Professor in the award-winning Exertion Games Lab at RMIT University where I work with young designers and researchers. I have received awards including Queensland Premiers’ Smithsonian Fellowship (New York); Australian Research Council Post-Graduate Industry Award (2004). Prior to Making Makers, I held leadership roles in academia including: Associate Dean Research in the Faculty of Arts and Design, University of Canberra; Director of Higher Degrees Research in the School of Media and Communication, RMIT University (2010‐2012) and a Chief Investigator in the ARC Centre of Excellence for Creative Industries and Innovation(2005‐2011).
I am also a serial entrepreneur having run 3 micro enterprises since 2006. I have won national awards for my creative practice and maintain a studio in The Make It Collective in Northcote, Victoria.
